Wheat and Help for Israel

The more time I spend growing my own crops, the more appreciation I have for farmers. Growing one’s own food is gratifying, but it is hard work. I now have a deeper respect for those whose entire lives are tied to the land. Every country has farmers, but I have to admit that I am in actual awe over farmers in Israel – those who have brought forth food from the desert! That is amazing to me, a true agricultural marvel. (I would say miracle.) More of the Israeli desert is being reclaimed for agriculture every year; yet, in some cases, it’s not enough to feed the population. As Israel grows with new immigrants, she is in need of more food to feed her new citizens. Also, the political and economic climate of the Middle East and the world is ripe for collapse and war, so additional food will be needed to feed Israel when tough times arrive and prompt an increase in immigrants. And thus, the reason for today’s post. Next week, the Charleston, SC area has an opportunity to be a blessing to Israel. Find out how!
