It may not be summer on the calendar yet, but summer sure has hit South Carolina with a vengeance. Daily lows have been in the low to mid-70s, and the highs have been in the mid to upper 90s. Yesterday, we had our first 100 degree day. I was in the garden mid-morning yesterday and it was already in the upper 80s with high humidity. Unfortunately, I got a bit of heat exhaustion after only ninety minutes outside. Air conditioning, lots of water with lime (and a banana or two), plus some rest, and I was feeling a bit better. Meanwhile, please enjoy the pictures I took of my garden this week, despite the heat. This week’s garden photos!
First, I wish each and every one of you a blessed Memorial Day. May we all remember the great cost of the freedom we hold so dear. And may God comfort all of you who have lost loved ones for the sake of freedom.
This long holiday weekend, I have spent quite a bit of time in my garden. The weather has been beautiful, and I found quite a few nice surprises. This week’s garden photos!
The sun finally came out earlier in the week, and my seedlings are lapping up the rays. I’ve had to water a few times this week (as the seedling roots are still shallow), and all are doing well. Yesterday, I did my first complete walk-through of the garden, and I was surprised at some of the things I found! This week’s garden photos!
