Regardless of the season, there are always critters in my garden. I often share pictures with you as part of my weekly garden updates. However, it seems it’s been quite some time since I shared a post with all my garden critters together. So, I hope you enjoy the spring edition of critters in my garden. Critters in my garden!
Tropical Storm Ana formed off the coast of South Carolina this week and definitely affected our weather. My homestead is about 25-30 miles from the beach, so we didn’t didn’t get as much rain as other areas and it wasn’t as heavy. Steady, soaking rain is good! It’s been fairly breezy off and on for the past three days, too – ebbing and flowing with the storm bands. And now, the humidity is setting in. Ugh. Thanks, Ana. Fortunately, the garden is doing well, as you shall see. This week’s garden photos!
A couple of weeks ago, my Garden Wilson hung my bird feeder from a branch on my sweet gum tree – in an attempt to keep the squirrels from eating all the bird seed. I also had to move one of my tiki torches because the squirrel had learned to use it as a platform from which to jump onto the bird feeder. Argh. But now, the feeder is safe from the squirrels. With the new song bird blend of bird seed I bought and the lack of access to the gray climbing rodents, birds are flocking to my feeder in droves! Birds at my feeder!
It’s winter planting season, and the weather has changed like a roller coaster this week in the Charleston, SC area. From a low of 17 during the Polar Vortex (which dipped this far south) to a high of 73 only three days later! Walking through my garden this weekend, I felt like Goldilocks. This week’s garden pictures!
