Sanctuary Gardener Update ~ 11/3/15 ~ Signs of Autumn

Happy November, everyone. We’re six weeks into autumn, but you can’t tell by the temperature here in the Charleston area. We’ve had highs in the low 80s most of the week. Last year, the first frost was November 3, and it was November 14 the year before that. Looks like first frost is going to be late this year. Normally, we should have SOME color on the trees (albeit, most of the colors are tans and browns…NOTHING like New England), but we don’t even have that yet. Too warm, I guess. However, there are some signs on my homestead that autumn has arrived. This week’s garden pictures!

Sanctuary Gardener Update ~ 10/27/15

Good morning, everyone. It’s been a while since I gave you an update on the garden and homestead, so I thought I’d share with you a few pictures as well as tell you how things are growing (or not) in the garden. We did have a couple nights in the 40s last week, but my excitement over autumn weather arriving was short-lived. Our lows are now in the upper 50s to mid 60s with highs in the mid 70s to low 80s. Not exactly autumn weather in this Yankee’s opinion, but at least it’s not scorching hot anymore. This week’s garden photos!

Sanctuary Gardener Update ~ 12/8/14

Autumn is finally in full swing here in my Sanctuary Garden. This past week, the days’ temperatures climbed into the lower 70s, but autumn weather will return this coming week after the cold front that passed this weekend. The leaves are falling, many limbs are bare, but there is still some new growth in my garden. This weeks’ garden photos!
