As my regular readers know, I just got back from vacation in Rhode Island. I had a great time, visiting all my favorite places with my family. While there, I decided to take pictures of wildflowers, so I could share them with you. I did my best to identify them, but please correct me if you believe I am wrong. Because I’m having problems with my home computer, I’ll post half the flowers today and half tomorrow – so come back to see more!
It’s amazing how different the wildflowers are when you travel to another state. I even saw some I don’t remember seeing while I was growing up there – or, I just never paid attention like I do now – like this one.
I DO remember this flower from my childhood.
Here in South Carolina, our honeysuckle is yellow. This is a white variety.
Wild roses and their hips are beautiful.
I know this is a thistle, but it doesn’t look like a normal thistle. I THINK this is a bristle thistle. Anyone know for sure?
The identification of this last one is eluding me. It reminds me of an evening primrose, but it’s different. Can anyone identify this flower?
Help me out with these last two flowers and come back tomorrow for more!
